Herbs - Live plants, Seeds, Dried/cured by the ounce

 

We have almost everything listed on the availability lists pinned at the top of the Magica - Magic Farm Taos facebook page.

Please just ask - we're here to supply your medicinal herbs but haven't yet managed to do all the online materials at the same time.

2025 Seed List is the same as 2024 image below, with a few additions, so just ask for anything you don't see.  Same prices.

We grow all the plants to maturity and hand-harvest the seeds onsite.

 

Bare-root live plants will be available in spring when the ground is thawed:  hops (Humulus lupulus), Victoria rhubarb, stinging nettle (Urtica dioica), mugwort (Aretemisia vulgaris), valerian (Valeriana officinalis), garlic starts, possibly strawberry starts (Sparkle variety), dwarf sour cherry, native plums, Chinese licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra), more as they're recalled. 

 

Dried/cured herbs list following.  As with the rest of the website, its a work in progress, so please message to ask about avaiability and prices.  Things we have lots of, like mugwort and wormwood, are inexpensive in bulk.  Herbs such as the red sage and ashwagandha you'd have to convince us to part with.  Some we have plenty but also use most of it here - such as the Self-Heal (Prunella vulgaris) we use in Magic Salve.  Some roots are limited availability right now because we didn't dig much (licorice) and/or the ground is too frozen to dig more (lovage).  We strongly encourage you to come harvest for yourself :D  Its only $40 for you to fill your shopping bag (or spend an hour and half or so, whichever's first, & we'll show you how, too).  

 

ORDERING:

We're pretty fed up with ecommerce platforms making "innocent errors" or having "glitches" which conveniently result in financial mistakes to their benefit.  However, after an abysmal 2024 holiday season without online ordering enabled, we are currently examining the few US banking/ecommerce options for the least odious to do business with.

HOW TO ORDER:

Contact us! We're back to basics old-school on ordering and payments.

Two reasons:

1.  We ended up getting increasing numbers of scam or bot orders on Etsy and then Shopify.  Can't deal with nonsense waste of time.

2.  Seems like the ecommerce platforms & payment authorization we've used have overcharged us (and customers!) in one little sneaky way or another.  Inefficeincy disrupts the free flow of qi and, as such, has no place in our practice.

The only e-payment option we're offering is Venmo:  @herbal-apothecary.  Cash accepted onsite in person.
